The Gospel
The Gospel literally means “good news.”
In the Bible, it refers to the good news about what God has done for humanity through Jesus.
God created us for relationship with Him.
Humanity sinned and became separated from God.
We cannot fix that separation by our own effort.
God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live a sinless life.
Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sin.
He rose again, defeating sin and death.
Anyone who repents and trusts in Him is forgiven and reconciled to God.
A classic summary is found in 1 Corinthians 15:3–4:
Christ died for our sins, was buried, and was raised on the third day.
Another clear explanation appears in John 3:16 — that God loved the world so much He gave His Son so that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life.
